Love this jacket! I live in the tropics where it rains suddenly and frequently and the temperature is usually warm. This jacket efficiently repels the rain. It does not get soggy on the outside material like another waterproof jacket I have. It is very lightweight, breathable and stylish. I like all the adjustment features that are usually only found on much more expensive jackets. The fit is perfect and true to size for me in Medium.
We got these for our trip to the rainy side of Hawaii and we were not disappointed. Several comments said the coat ran small in the misses sizes. This is not true of the women's sizes. They were well fitted and still allowed for layering underneath. The hoods are extremely adjustable and comfortable in a downpour, and tucked away easily when the rain stopped. The coats are also lightweight and easy to stuff into a day pack. And the colors are lovely!
I've been so anxious about the fitting of this jacket when I ordered, but it was just right! I'm only 5'0" tall and weight around 100 lb. Not skinny, but average with a small body frame.
I didnot want too "fitted" or shaped waist lines like other outdoor company's women's rain jacket I used to own, and LLBean did it right! I was actually going to order Men's jacket just for that reason, but glad I didn't otherwise it would have been too big for sure.
It fits perfect around my body. Not too tight when I wear only T-shirt underneath, but is's still roomy enough for a light weight fleece jacket or even a microfiber winter jacket.
I said "almost perfect" and gave 4 stars because the jacket length is a bit short as a rain jacket like others said in their reviews. I only wish if LLBean makes it 2 inch longer. Arm length is good for me, but I guess it could be too short for a skinnier and taller person.
I'd use this jacket for all seaons when it's raining, snowing or not! Everyone who loves to go outside and play should own one. Very light weight and good waterproof jacket for affordable price for this kind. I'll pack this jacket in my backpack or in my car all year around! I bought the same jacket for my husband, and he loves it too.
First off - this jacket is short for a rain jacket; second, it makes a lot of noise when worn; third, it runs quite small. the features are nice, the hood adjustment, zippered pockets, etc. with it being so short and tight, not liking it very much.
