I bought this jacket primarily as a rain jacket but also as a light Spring/Summer/Fall Jacket. Plus I wanted something I could 'pack' for hiking trips. This is perfect for all of the above.
I did see the review that said it was a snug tight, but I did not find that to be true. It's not "Boxy" but it's also not tight. I can easily fit a heavy shirt and fleece vest under mine. I actually like the fit because I don't have a ton of extra fabric or room to deal with.
I also like the pit-zips, the hood, and the light fabric (which is not as "loud" as some of my other rain jackets.) There's really not much I don't like about this jacket!
This jacket is great. It does everything it promises to do. I love the adjustable hood because I usually have problems with jacket hoods falling down in my eyes.
I recently purchased both this and the trail model rain jacket. Having longer arms, I was unhappy with the sleeve length of the waterproof storm jacket. While there are some features that I liked - pit zips and better fitting hood - the sleeves and body length are enough to have me send this one back and keep the trail model rain jacket. It is a more snug fit than the TMRJ; another downside to me since I don't know if I could comfortably wear another jacket, like a fitness fleece underneath for added warmth.
