Living in Scotland now and coming from New York, this jacket my father noticed and actually bought it for me because no matter what jacket I wore I was always getting wet. It is true that it rains here quite a bit. But this jacket has kept me dry, but in order to stay warm you will need to wear sweater or layer clothes under it.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, favorite jacket
I bought my jacket on a trip to Maine almost 2 years ago. I bought the Women's 3X and found it fit my 'curves' well. I was a 24/26 at the time of purchase and lets just say I typically need extra room at the hips. I have had zero issues with it not being waterproof and love that by adjusting the vent zippers I can wear it in different temps. This has been my favorite jacket since I first bought it and I've received many compliments regarding the style and fit. I've thrown it in the washer several times and it's always cleaned up great! Mine is white so that's very important for me to keep it clean. Just be sure to hang it up as soon as it comes out of the washer so it doesn't wrinkle up.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
The ventilation of the jacket provides great airflow for those rainy days when the humidy is high. The lightweight material makes it a great packable item that doesn't take up a lot of space. I wear a women's size 20 and purchased the 2X which fits well with room for a fleece underneath, if needed. The waterproof seams work well and the pockets are just the right height. The back provides good rear coverage, without being so long that it restricts movment while hiking. Very pleased with the jacket which has traveled with me to China, Nicaragua, Europe, Canada, Mexico, as well as a variety of US states.
