I was pleasantly surprised by the number of pockets that women's coats usually don't offer. The fabric provided good protection from the rain & wind with nice hood adjustments. The size description was accurate but still disappointing for two reasons. Unless you are wearing leg protection, the run off from the jacket will still dampen/wet your core (long waisted shirts/pant tops). Based on other LL Bean jackets (eg Stowaway) which usually are extra roomy, borderline too big, this jacket "seemed" small, not allowing much layering.
I bought the men's version and love it, so I recommended it to my wife. Unfortuntely, the women's sizing is short (barely past the waistband of her jeans) and small. She could order a larger size, but not longer.
The inside of this jacket is plastic and felt awful. The fit was fine and exterior nylon was as expected but my kids have inexpensive rain coats that are far nicer inside and don't feel like wearing a plastic bag. This was a big disappointment.
When I read the reviews on this product one of them said the sleeves felt "sticky"--I had no idea what that meant, but after I got the jacket I understood. The lining feels like an EVA shower curtain. If you have bare skin underneath and start to sweat it's going to cling your arms like nobody's business.
