ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I can't say enough about L.L. Bean and their dedication to quality products and customer support. I had trouble ordering this jacket online and the customer service was incredible helping me out.
The jacket it great for the money and you will not be dissatisfied!
Pros: Waterproof, light-weight, hood is designed with a sort of built-in visor so it doesn't block your view; but still keeps the rain off your face.
Cons: Expensive. No thermal layer. Not enough exterior pockets.
Based on the LLB sizing chart, it fits too tightly so , I can't wear it over a sweat-shirt...which you need, unless you happen to encounter warm rainy days. I tried it out on a 55-60 degree day, over a long sleeved shirt and I was COLD.
Summary: The Waterproof Storm Jacket is absolutely waterproof; but at $99 it is not a good value. It is more of a shell than a "full-fledged" jacket. At temps below 70 degrees it needs to be complemented with a sweater or sweatshirt; but the sizing doesn't account for that.
The windbreaker & rain jacket is excellent in every respect except the zipper. The teeth are too small and it's prone to false starts. I do not understand why an inexpensive zipper was installed on an expensive jacket.
