Finally had enough rain to use this jacket and it does keep you bone dry in a heavy rain. The only thing I dont like about the jacke is it needs a couple of velcro strips near the zipper so you can keep jacket closed but not fully zipped allowing some air to circulate. After wearing I wish I had gotten a parka for the longer lenght. But I plan to use this in warm weather or with waterproof pants.

Needed something for a Seattle vacation...lightweight....easy to pack...ended up on a whale watching expedition and it worked perfectly. Kept me outside on the boat deck rather than huddled inside the cabin with the other unprepared passengers.

I purchased this item mid-August for visiting Alaska in early September. Paired with a Katahdin Iron Works® Heavyweight Hooded Sweatshirt, I stayed warm and dry visiting Denali National Park and day cruising on Prince William Sound and around the Kenai Fjords National Park. Alaska at this time of year is mixed sun and rain, lots of rain. The jacket would be perfect if it had a 2 way zipper and snaps for the front; nonetheless, it is a great value, effective storm jacket, and good looking, to boot!
