I like this jacket as a rain coat in warmer weather or in cooler weather with sweater underneath. The jacket fits more like a longer parka rather than at the waist which allows for generous pockets and it keeps it shape constructed with a thicker material. I left this coat in the Cancun airport and could not wait to replace it.
I've worn a number of lightweight rain jackets for over fifty years. This particular jacket, though more costly than the rest, wins hands down. Well designed ... attention to detail ... tough fabric ... quality zippers ... several pockets ... comfortable ... definitely rainproof ... no sweat, as it breaths better than other rain jackets I've owned ... an effective windbreaker. My only negative comment: replace the white nautical map lining with solid gray or black, to better match my black jacket.
I've searched high & low for a decent rain jacket, and even tried cheaper & more expensive examples from LLBean, before returning them. The mid-priced Waterproof Storm Jacket was the bulls-eye! The fabric & fit are stylish, and the topography-map pattern on the inside is a nice touch (if somewhat goofy). Interior mesh pockets easily stash a pair of gloves. Best of all, I've had the opportunity to try the jacket in the rain -- its intended purpose -- and came away impressed. Although the downpours weren't torrential, I stayed dry and the fabric breathed. You can't go wrong with this lightweight jacket.
