It did not get wet at all thanks to a perfect waterproof though it put on when it took the motorcycle on the day of rain. Moreover, it is easy to be light to jacket and to put it on.
I have mixed feelings about this jacket. I set out to find a good lightweight windbreaker that would be highly water resistant. The fit and appearance of this jacket is excellent; waterproof is a plus. But some details leave me wanting: no snaps on storm flap (I don't always want to zip up); the pockets are too small; and worst of all - the fabric is NOISY! I am used to golf wind/rainshirts that are made from "silent" material, and this jacket bugs me when I hear the constant rustling sound. The material feels flimsy and gives me the impression that it won't be too durable, but time will tell about that. Overall, good but not great, kinda disappointing being from Bean.
I bought this jacket for trips to NYC and London. Last time I went I vowed to have a black one to take to the big dirty cities. This is a great jacket. Waterproof and comfortable. it has a little bill on the hood that keeps out the rain and vents in the armpits for those long rainy hikes when you need some ventilation. I really like the topography maps on the inside. Fun and excellent rain gear.
