I have gone 71 years without a REAL waterproof jacket with a functional hood. It has been raining here in Richmond almost since I received the jacket. How did I ever go so long without this Bean jacket. It is really waterproof and the hood fits well with its visor. Water does not get on my glasses because of the visor. Wards off the wind as well as the rain. Great buy. Looks good to.
While coming back in from 20 miles off shore when the seas swelled to 7 feet, this jacket took on some heavy soaking waves coming over our bow. When we got back to our slip, my clothes underneath were bone dry. Great jacket that breathes well in warm temps!
This jacket is excellent. I bought it as the outerlayer for winter backpacking but I keep it in my commuter daypack for my daily one-hour walk to work. It's waterproof, light weight, stores easily, has a big hood, and covers me much better than what I used before. Most importantly, it has vents and mesh pockets to help with temperature and moisture control.
