ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
After spending many hours the past few weeks in New Englands record rains I was sold. This Jacket performed as well if not better than the Top Dollar brand. I would however suggest that when ordering order one size larger.Great Job LLBean...
ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, good for the first year
I loved this jacket. Bought it for a trip to Nicaragua, and Have kept it in my outer backpack pocket since then. For the first year it was great, has a nice fit, Im 6'3 220lbs and I wear it in the medium long.
After a few trips though, and fairly light wear, it lost its water proofing, and the inside shredded along the shoulders and collar. I went in today to exchange it, but the only other jacket that I like as much is 3 times more, so I traded it in for a new one.
You really cant beat the jacket for this price point, and cant compare it to a more expensive one.
Until LLBean has a goretex that is lightweight and not 3x more, unfortunately I'll have to keep on trading it in when it wears out

I have had this jacket for 1-2 years now and was quite satisfied with not only the fit and styling but the ability to keep me dry in the rain without an umbrella. However for the past 6 months the jacket performance has been getting consistently worse at its ability to keep me dry. Last week I made a dash from the front door of my house to my car in a heavy downpour - once in the car I was surprised to discover that my skin and clothes were actually wet right under the jacket. I used to see the water bead up on this material but now the rain just soaks right through. I have laundered this jacket just a minimal amount of times, maybe once or twice. I will probably return it since I purchased it based on the waterproof claims of the TEK fabric. Maybe there have been improvements made since?
