ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, wrinkle resistant
These shorts wash and wear very well. They are extremely comfortable for any and all activities. The material is fine quality and they are quite wrinkle resistant. I have them in white, navy and stone. They even come with extra buttons!
I loved the older version of these shorts. I had one in each color, but fortunately and yet now unfortunately, I need a smaller size. I opted to order the comfort waist since I have a stomach more than hips or bottom. However, the rear and hips were so big, yet the waist comfortable. So frustrating!
Before this one, I ordered ones that were too small! Although it's free shipping, I've almost spent as much money on sending back to get them right. The hips/waist were great on the falmouth shorts, but they were way too long and made swishing noise when I walked! I'm a size 8 and even so, shouldn't hear swishing between my thighs! The size chart didn't help at all. My stomach was size 12 and my hips were size 6! I gave these 4 stars because I like the softness of the cotton and the quality of the LLBean products for women.
I did speak to someone and she understood my dilemna. She tried to help as much as she could and very friendly and informative. I just got my non-comfort waist (figured that's what made the bum loose) in same shorts in two sizes, just in case. Seems I am 9! The 8 was too tight (in the waist), though I'm bloated and the 10's were a little loose (will through in hot dryer and hope that'll produce a 9!) Maybe I should've ordered an 8 comfort waist?!
Also, where's all the great (pastel)colors (the white is a little thinner than what I'd normally prefer)?! And because of the return shipping (LOVE the "auto" return) costs, I'm finding it hard to justify the cost of the new, not-improved basic shorts (seems too, a tad shorter or maybe narrower legs than older ones). I love the narrow leg and in-between-the-other-product length.
Sorry to bounce back and forth with the review, but that's what I've had to do with the shorts! It's a great company overall and we love it when we have a chance to visit. I will always be loyal, as a New Englander, to LLBean. I recommend these shorts, especially since they do have the option of the comfort and non-comfort (still gentle feel) waists!
Although we don't shop here for mens' business shirts anymore (I don't order chicken at a steak house but hubby wanted to try!) and they don't carry the women's Adirondack jeans either (PLEASE BRING THEM BACK), their children's clothing last longer because they run big and their home products want you to get an extra house, just to decorate like that!
The shorts are very nice -- the length is just right and they fit well. Though the comfort waist is great for working in the yard, it is a little loose otherwise. But I'm sure I won't pull the button off these shorts while weeding!
I have been buying Bayside Twill Shorts for years because the quality is excellent. They are durable, comfortable and look great right out of the dryer. L.L. Bean never lets me down!
