I've been looking for this weight jacket that is breathable and has a hood. The hood is large (to accommodate a helmet) which is a bit much without one though it can synch down. The pit zips are an added bonus as well as the number of good sized pockets.
Purchased this jacket for our vacation to Yosemite and Sequoia National Park. During our time there it rained, hailed and snowed! I wore this jacket on pretty much every hike we went on and it was great. I layered it over a polar fleece LL bean jacket and could not have been warmer. After a 13 mile hike in the rain, I was still warm and dry!
Well, if you read the preview from "DKMom" from Atlanta, GA, this is exactly how I feel about the jacket. The hood is ridiculously big, but other than that, it's a pretty decent jacket. I got the plum/blackberry one, the color is rich and true to the website. I'm happy with my purchase overall.
Bought this in blue & love the color and style. Completely waterproof raincoat and great lightweight jacket for cool weather. Fits well, not too big, but enough room for a fleece under. Only downside is the hood - it is huge & can't really be adjusted to fit. This is a problem if you try to look down - it falls into your face & then you can't see much! I find I am constantly tugging or pushing it back so I can see where I'm going. Still a great jacket - flattering fit, light and warm & the hood does keep your head dry!
