Fantastic oxford shirt. Ordering by measurement (as opposed to S, M, L), combined with the trim fit makes it seem like this shirt was made to measure. Being able to wear it straight out of the dryer without ironing is an added bonus. My only complaint is the "wrinkle resistant trim fit" tag on the inner collar; something about the material of the tag irritates the heck out of my neck. But this is an easy fix.
The trim fit works for me: as others have noted it isn't a skin tight fit by any stretch of the imagination, but it eliminates most of the billowing I experienced with the regular fit. I also agree we need to see more trim fit colours. Pink to start, maybe another university stripe, and the Classic Oxford line as a whole, regular and trim, needs a lavender.
This shirt is excellent for business casual and also works well with a tie. I really like that it comes sized as dress shirt; I can get my neck size and sleeve matched perfectly, and the trim fit works great for me. I'm not skinny so don't expect the trim fit to be body hugging - it's not but it works fine for an average sized guy. The best feature is that this comes out of the dryer looking pressed and new. I've got solids and now have one in blue stripe. This is my go-to shirt for the office. Bean has mastered no-iron and this shirt is excellent proof. I also like the heavier weight of the fabric. Highly recommended.
I ordered this for me and I'm a 5' 10 1/2" female... Why? Because I LOVE this fabric!! LLBean - would love it if you made this for us ladies! I love my ladies LLBean button front shirts, too, but this fabric is the best, hands down!! Such a comfortable, yet crisp finish. I have a couple of men's shirts in this fabric and can usually wear a men's medium... Thankfully LLBean had a great size chart, so I was able to figure out what size I would need to order in this to accommodate my size. I even got it monogrammed! Thanks for great products LL Bean!!
