arms too wide and length too short
PostedJuly 21, 2012
I bought this for my 18 year old son because it came in the slim fit and is wrinkle resistant. It looks as though I will have to send this back because the arms are too wide and the length is too short. The fabric and color are nice, but
LLbean needs to make this longer and make the sleeves more tapered. I don't think the body is all that tapered for a slim fit. My son is tall and thin, 6 foot and about 140 pounds. I've purchased other slim fit shirts in 15 and 15 1/2 and they were not so wide and short from other retailers. I noticed one of the other reviews mentioned this was too short and sleeves too wide for him too. I like the fact that Bean has a variety of sleeve and neck lengths to fit tall and thin guys, but this still needs to be more tailored in the body and arms, and the length of the body needs to be longer. I hope LLbean improves this fit because it is a nice shirt.

almost perfect
PostedJuly 17, 2012
ProsGreat Value
LLB Oxfords are some of my favorite shirts. Unfortunately I find the fit frustrating - the regular fit shirts are too roomy and puff out around the waist; the trim fit shirts are better but for some reason are cut shorter in the body and don't stay tucked in (as others have mentioned). Can't this be corrected? The shirt would become perfect.

WOW!

ProsGreat Value
Compared Oxford shirts from other similar retailers, this was the winner buy far.
Additionally it was the only one that came in a "classic" rather than a "pinpoint" Oxford.
Straight from the dryer it looked as though it came from the dry cleaners.
Loved the trim fit and colors--more please.

Oxford cloth trim fit

Prosnot quite right but close
I really liked this shirt when I received it: the blue is a brighter, glowier blue than that of the classic fit. As other reviews have mentioned, the trim fit is indeed trimmer in the torso, but not so much in the sleeves. This wasn't really a problem for me. What I had to return it for was the shortness of the tail - it just wouldn't stay tucked in. I was disappointed because I liked everything else about this shirt. I'll stick with the classic though.
