I would say I am usually 95% happy with the many L.L. Bean purchases we have made over the years, i.e., reliable quality. fairly priced and comfortable styles. Unfortunately we have a problem with this shirt. I don't know if it is the resins that make the 100% cotton fabric wrinkle free or what but the collar, cuffs and buttonhole piece down the front fray after the first few washings. Today the side seam tore with just a gentle tug.
I love these shirts. I currently own three but plan to buy more. I'm tall and my shirts often come untucked throughout the work day. The fit of the Bean Oxford is better than any shirt I've ever owned. I never worry about the shirts coming untucked and the sleeves are a perfect length. I wear the tall trim fit and look forward to getting more of these for my rotation.
I'm 6'2" and 230 with broad shoulders and a small gut, but this shirt (17.5 neck, 36 sleeve) is huge on me. It is definitely not trim. Holding it up, it's very boxy and does not taper in at all. Plus, there is only one button on each sleeve, so you have no way of adjusting how it fits around your wrists. The only positive for me is that the fabric does seem to be pretty good quality. I'll be returning this shirt though.
I had high hopes for this shirt, but I will have to return it. It just isn't trim; the body seam looks basically straight - not curved inward - with probably six to eight inches too much fabric in the torso. Even accounting for the torso fit, the sleeves are too big: with my arms by my side, it felt like my armpits were stuffed with cloth.
