I've always had good luck with these classic oxford shirts. They're sturdy, easy to care for, and look "new" for a long time - all at a great price.
I'm 6', 175 lbs, slim/athletic build, and I wear a 15 neck 33 sleeve in the slightly fitted cut. The torso isn't billowy at all, but not snug enough to be restrictive and binding. The perfect fit...
I usually purchase the L L Bean "Slightly Fitted" long sleeve shirts, and they fit just fine. This one however; needs to be described at "Tightly Fitted". I am exchanging it for the regular fit.
I own about 10 variations of these shirts- I loved the Classic Oxford Trim fit- was my all time perfect shirt. Since these new(ish) Slightly Fitted Oxfords have been out I have purchased two. Both seem made of a rougher, thinner material. The slightly fitted is a little bulkier. Also both shirts I have purchased have had spots with excess stitching dangling on the outside. And they raised the price about 5$. As always with LL Bean... customer service is spectacular. But I would like the old shirt & the old price back.
My son's favorite shirt is the "Wrinkle-Free Pinpoint Oxford Cloth Shirt, Traditional Fit" in French Blue. He asked me to get a second shirt just like it, but in trim fit if possible, and I ordered this shirt in French Blue. This is a nice shirt, but the color is a traditional pale blue, not at all like the bright French Blue as the other shirt. To be fair, the on-line photo is fairly accurate, but, perhaps naively, I thought the French Blue color would be more consistent. All in all, it's a fine shirt with a nice feel and a nice fit in a traditional pale blue.
