Sleeves are too tight
PostedJanuary 21, 2014
I just ordered 2 of these shirts. Unfortunately, both have to go back. The general fit is great, and the weight of the material seems good. But the sleeves are incredibly tight. I'm in decent shape, with average size arms - and it was uncomfortable to wear these shirts and bend the arm at the elbow.

Great value for businessman
PostedJanuary 18, 2014
Was traveling every week last year to the Deep South and spending a lot of money and time getting shirts done. Bought two classic oxford solid colors (regular fit) to try them and then bought two more (Trim Fit, now Slightly Fitted). Everything is as advertised. Trimmer is better for me (tall, thin) although I'd like to try the new even more trim fit available in other styles. But even the regular fit shirts didn't "blouse" around my waist as a starched shirt does.
As some have mentioned, the fabric is heavy but it wasn't oppressively hot even in the summer months. I folded them and packed them in my carry-on bag and then hung them up when I arrived. Whether coming out of the dryer or out of the suitcase, they looked OK and after hanging, they looked great. I had to pack them when they were still damp once and got the iron out when I got to the hotel to touch up a couple. But by the next day, even the ones I hadn't ironed looked good.
One nice thing not mentioned elsewhere: you don't have to unbutton the sleeves or collar for washing (as I do before taking other shirts to the laundry). OK, that's not a huge time saver but when you're rushing to make an early meeting, every minute counts.
One slight knock: the fabric seems to retain stains a little more aggressively than most. They still come out but I've had to take a toothbrush and laundry detergent to a few tiny stains that I thought would yield to the usual quick spot treatment.
I've worn them with slacks for business casual (mostly) and a few times with a tie and jacket. Perfect for both. Great value for business wear for nearly all degrees of formality. A bonus: I probably shouldn't admit this but as long as you don't spill anything or perspire profusely, no one will know that you wore it more than once without washing. For traveling, that means carrying fewer shirts (even ignoring the ability to wash it out in the sink overnight) or extending the trip a day or two without drama. :)

Good fit and high quality

If you want a heavier cloth oxford, this is a good choice. Fit is true and for someone with a more athletic build, definitely get the slightly fitted. This shirt will last!

great idea, wrong execution

I love the LL Bean Oxfords (see my review), but always felt they are a bit too bulky for me (6, 185 lbs).
Psyched about a trim fit, but
- not trim enough
- and the arms are the same than on the original fit, which gives it an awkward look.
I returned the shirts (which was super - easy)
