I bought a triple stich belt previously from Bean and I love it. It' soft and very comfortable. They have the triple stich in stock but only in brown. I wanted black which is why I bought this one.
This belt is good but not as good as the last one I bought. It is not as soft and not as comfortable.

I have worn a previous incarnation of this belt for twenty years and love it. Mine look the same but mine has an antique brass buckle and the strap has a very classy hammered, emdossed ll bean signature to the right of the buckle. I don't need one, but I'd still buy this one. Expecting, as always, bean quality. I'd buy my son one in a heartbeat. In fact, maybe I can beg the credit card off my wife tonight.
If you're into keeping a belt forever as I am, you get used to the feel. The older it gets the more familiar it becomes despite its shabbiness—which prompts you eventually to purchase a new one. Of course, no new belt will ever be the same, but this Jean Belt feels "cheap." It's stiff and lacks suppleness. Perhaps in a few years being worn every day, it'll loosen up and get a nice feel to it. We'll see...
