The belt is sturdy and attractive. The buckle, however, does not feed the extra belt back on itself and loses the "rigger belt" feature of snugging with one hand. Instead it feeds through the buckle and requires two hands and some gyrations to tighten or otherwise adjust. It stays tight through friction but is a chore to adjust.
I'm a basketball referee and needed a good black belt as part of my uniform. The L.L. Bean Overland black web belt fit my needs perfectly. It's comfortable with an easy to use buckle and is strong.
