Bought a yellow one last year and found it's so wonderful! The detailed design, material Primaloft One, and great fit are just what I need (I don't need the expensive GoreTex). Since this has become my favorite jacket, this year I bought another Black one. Buy this, you will never regret. Thank you LL Bean!
Strong design, well-executed. Hood is amply sized, to go over stocking cap, or to adjust with draw cords and velcro fastener on rear of hood. Hand pockets in the right place and warm. Outside, top left zip pocket, and one inside, too, plus mesh on lower right to hold hat and gloves. Very light, quite warm and feels like down, just as advertised. As catalog advises, if you want a more relaxed fit or if you plan to layer (fleece or a medium weight sweater), then SIZE up because the fit is indeed "trim." High value, packable, and layerable piece of gear, it could even be worn in a Kansas blizzard with a shell over it, and appropriate layers underneath it. Top-notch.
This was given to my son, about 2 months ago and although, here in MA we haven't had a lot of real cold yet so he was wearing it open but on the few days it has gotten bitter cold ( -5 when he left the other morning) he said it is as warm as his old down coat but 1/2 the weight ! LL Bean wins again !
