I have worn this jacket in Maine for the past 1 month in the teens, with no cold getting through. The waist has a cinch cord and the cuffs are elastic to keep out the cold. Water and snow shed right off the outler layer causing the insulation and most importlantly YOU, to never get wet. The hood is very large, designed to go over a ski helmet if need be. It is not to large to wear without a helmet. The hood also has a cinch cord.
The Jacket is very warm for its weight. Made of Primaloft, this jackets insulation is a very high quality product made by 3M. The insulation will keep you warm when wet, which was my main concern as I wear this during sweating activities.
This Jacket also has an amazing feel to it. Slide you arm into the sleeve and you will be amazed at how nice the inside of this jacket feels. Very sturdy, strong seams, water-shedding warmth for half the price of similar Primaloft soft shells.
Size was true.
PROS: VERY WARM, VERY NICE MATERIAL INSIDE AND OUT, DOES NOT ATTRACT DOG HAIR, EASY WASHING AND CARE, WATER RESISTANT, LIGHT WEIGHT, HIGH COMPRESSABILITY, and STAYS WARM WHEN WET.
CONS: THIS ITEM WILL BURN VERY EASILY. IF YOU ARE A SMOKER, ARE AROUND HOT ITEMS, OR PLAN TO BE FIRESIDE, BE VERY CAREFULL. ONE HOT SPARK WILL CREATE A DIME SIZED HOLE IN THIS GARMET
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, pleasing to the eye
I wondered how warm this jacket would be since the weight of it is minimal. I put it on and took my dog for a walk and was thoroughly surprised how warm it was for what seemed to be a lightweight jacket. I have a full down jacket that is the same size but can't tell the difference in warmth. Technology has created a better jacket than a goose down jacket.
