The Ascent PrimaLoft Hooded Jacket lives up to its bulletin. It is a very warm, light, cozy jacket that can be used whenever the temperature is between 60 and near zero degrees. The insulated, adjustable hood keeps it out of your eyes and snug so any movements are feasible. Zipped pockets inside and out plus the bottom adjustable cinch keep it with you at all times plus allow for carrying various items. No bulkiness means all movements are easier and non binding. It reminds me of a nice sleeping bag for my upper body.

I bought this coat to replace an older LL Bean jacket that I had that needed replacing and have been very happy with it. It's ultra light weight and a little fitted so it's much more flattering than my older coat. So far, it's performed well and I LOVE the inside pockets. When I go for walks, I can keep my iPhone, keys or whatever in there. It was perfect for election day when I walked to the polls and had my id and voter registration card in there, zipped up, safe and sound. Some have complained about the bright red color, but it suits me and I like that I can be seen while out walking in the neighborhood. Great value; my husband really likes it on me, too. I'm sure that I will enjoy this for years to come. Now I need to get gloves to match!
This jacket may be warm, but the appearance and feel of it was not what I expected. The jacket was short in front, just touching the top of the low rise jeans I was wearing. The red outer material was very shiny and noisy similar to a windbreaker. The red was also very bright. I returned this jacket and purchased another jacket of similar style from a different online retailer.
I've been looking for awhile for a nice, light, jacket for the Fall season. I'm 5 foot 10, and this didn't fit at all. I went up a size and the arms were still too short, and the jacket didn't cover my shirts. The hood is freaky oversized,too.It is light and warm,though. Just wish it was a bit longer in the length and arms.
