Overall, the Ascent Primaloft Hooded Jacket is the best fall/winter/spring jacket that LLBean makes in terms of an all-around everyday warm and versatile jacket. It is also very good looking and flattering. BUT, will you please bring back the same jacket WITHOUT a hood like you sold in previous years? The jacket without the hood was perfect. Not all of us like a hood on our jacket at all times. A hood makes it too casual and bulky. Or could you at least make this jacket in the exact same style that has a detachable hood so that the hood can be removed when it isn't wanted? Thanks!
This jacket is soft and keeps me warm on cool, windy nights on the soccer field sidelines. It's also light enough that when the sun comes out at afternoon games, I don't swelter. The hood is adjustable and works well. I can let it out to its full size if it's really wet or windy. I bought it large to allow for layering... medium might have sufficed, but I'm happy with it and will see how it performs through the winter.
I reallly liked the look of this jacket. I thought it would be perfect. It is a very fitted style, if you dont like your jackets tight or you like to do any layering this jacket is not for you. Too bad it doesnt come in plus sizes.
I bought this jacket because I loved the red color online. I thought this would be a garnet red with blue undertones, instead it's really more of a tomato/orange red. The jacket itself is great; nice fit, warm, well made. I would've given it 5 stars but the color just isn't there for me.
