I purchased this jacket when it was on sale and what do i have to say about it? Love it, love it, love it! I had my doubt at first wondering how can such a very lightweight jacket would keep me warm on a chilly and windy day. I had my answer the moment I put it on. Not only was the bold red a pretty sight but the feel on it on my skin is like a soft caress all the while i have it on! This would definitely be on my LLBean favourite buy of all time!

I was able to snag this coat during a Daily Markdown sale for more than half its original cost. But knowing what I know now about it, I think it's worth the full price!
I run very cold-- I sit with an electric blanket and heating pad at work because I'm so cold. But I'm also allergic to down, so this poses some difficulty when trying to purchase a coat that will be warm enough to survive New Hampshire winters.
I bought the Rugged Ridge Parka in the fall, and I was surprised at how light that coat was compared to the wool coats I had been wearing. And that coat, with a couple layers underneath, kept me toasty in very low temperatures.
When I received this coat in the mail, I was really skeptical. The coat was so light; how could it possibly keep me warm?
With a fleece jacket underneath, I can skip the Rugged Ridge and wear the Ascent PrimaLoft for anything above thirty degrees and still be relatively comfortable.
What's even better is that the Rugged Ridge is a little hefty when you're just trying to run errands-- the Ascent PrimaLoft is perfect. You barely know you have a coat on.
This is easily one of my favorite purchases from LL Bean (I tend to say that about everything I buy from LL Bean, but I really mean it!). I love this coat, and I hope I have it for years and years.

This is exactly the jacket I have been looking for for a long time. I got this jacket to wear as an insulation piece while snowboarding. It fits great, both over a lightweight fleece and under a shell. I also love how packable it is, I can throw it in my pack for some spring hiking above treeline here in Colorado. I got the blue, which is much more vibrant and sporty looking that how it looks online. This jacket is an all around winner.
I love the product in Blue Lapis color. I ordered a size up after looking at other reviews and it fits perfect. I love LLBean sleeves. Most people complain but they are perfect length for me. The jacket itself is probably not as warm as it's said but I'll see........
