I was impressed with the jacket from every respect especially the hand warmer pockets and hood. The velcro adjustment for the hood is simple and once done, should not need to be adjusted again. I live in severe cold weather and with the Ascent fleece jacket I can be outside in 0 degree weather and be very comfortable. The same jacket is sold by another manufacturer for $100.00 more and I didn't like the fit as well. LL Bean rocks with their products and prices!
I loved everything about this jacket, except the sleeves. They were very short. I would have needed at least another 2-3 inches in the sleeve length for this to have worked for me. I normally do not need "tall" sizes, so I'm not sure why this particular style was so different. I had to return this.

I am pretty serious about my winter jackets, so I was on the lookout for just the right one--something warm but not bulky to wear on more active winter outings, and that would also fit under other jackets for when it gets *really* cold.
I adore everything about it. The fit is perfect and flattering, the hood fits well, the blue color is gorgeous. Couldn't ask for more!
I've only worn this jacket a couple of times but I know that I love it. It's lightweight but warm - I've worn it with only two tees underneath and I've been very comfortable even though the temperature has been in the upper 30s. My arms tend to be on the long side, but the length was perfect. My only issue is the elastic fitting at the wrist. I think I might like something that would be adjustable so that it is a secure fit. The hood is roomy if you want to add a hat. Perfect for our VA weather.
