I purchased two of these jackets, one in black and one in blue.I had high hopes but, alas, I am returning both of them. While the material is nice and the coat seems warm, the cut is very boxy and ill fitting. I am 5'9, about 170lbs and athletic and the medium was way too large and fit like a sail. Also, the sleeves are way too long.
When purchasing this jacket two weeks ago in Freeport, I asked the salesman if it was temperture rated and how warm it would be. He didn't know, but I purchased it anyway. Don't purchase this item for its warmth. In the thirties you need a heavy sweater under; in the twenties a heavy sweater and a vest, and forget it if it's colder: leave it in the closet. It fits great and looks good, but it isn't a very warm jacket.
I'm a 6'2", 230 pound guy with broad shoulders. I'm an XL Tall; Bean stuff normally fits me well. Not so much in this case.
The way this jacket hangs off my shoulders makes me look like a barn door. Fit is not tailored; it's cut straight. I'm not claiming to be thin, but this jacket makes me look much heavier than I am. I thought it looked awkward when I first put it on... but, when my wife saw it, she was direct: "Uh, no... take it off. That's going back."
Shame -- I was really excited to have this jacket... but I'll keep looking.
