This jacket is a wonderful clothing investment - I go to school in Wisconsin and all I do is layer this with another lightweight sweater with a hood and I'm set to walk everywhere! It was even worth having to purchase a second one because the first was stolen - at least someone else gets to be warm!

this is such an amazing jacket. i use it as a second layer over a lighter weight jacket. Just like its name, it is a shell. i use it for XC skiing, biking, walking. when the weather gets cold and a single layer jacket is not enough, this jacket is absolutely amazing. i hope they keep making it so i can get a new one whenever i need another one. it is form fitting, so it is attractive and warm at the same time. It is sized perfectly, it has enough pockets. i have been out in teen degree weather and i have not been cold!
I tried this jacket out on a windy day and felt like the wind cut right through it. Not warm at all, despite having on a midweight wool long underwear top underneath. I also found the "Stretchy polyester exterior quietly moves with you for greater range of motion" claim to be false. My motion felt restricted and I found the material to be rather stiff. The fit was as described (slightly fitted, falls at hip), but I didn't particularly like it. I prefer my jackets a little longer for more coverage. In the end, I felt like it just looked kind of awkward. Definitely not worth the price I paid for it. I'd recommend the wind challenger fleece instead.

Love this coat, excellent for layering. I walk 4 miles every day and do not want to feel like a stuffed turkey when I do. This is light, trim, warm, LOVE IT!!! I wear a wicking base layer, fitness fleece then this coat. I walk every day all year, rain, snow or sunshine. Will be buying another color!!!
