I wore this on the trail in Tahoe in November. It was a good layer against the cold but not heavy. There is plenty of stretch for climbing, good pockets and I hung my gloves on the zipper pull when my hands warmed up. It ties well around your waist when too warm to wear. Wish I had bought a different color. The green is pretty bright and I matched the moss on the pine trees!
I love the feminine look of this slightly fitted jacket. Although I was really looking for a windbreaker, I find myself wearing this often in the autumn weather. It is just perfect! And the color goes with many things.
I bought this jacket to use for trail running in cooler/damper weather. Finally got a chance to try it out yesterday. Part of the problem was that I was wearing it over jeans, but on top I only had a wick-dry T shirt over my wicking running bra. Although the weather was suitably cool and foggy, I not only overheated running in it but I got so soggy I had to stop running. I weighed my clothes when I got home - 6 lbs in just the jacket, my wicking T and lightweight LLBean jeans! So I bought a pair of fitness pants to run in and a lightweight longsleeve T and a mountain sport fleece jacket to see if that will work better. I made the mistake of ordering up - I normally wear XS or S and I bought a S and the jacket swims on me. Also don't care for the brown color or the feel of the soft shell in person - reminds too much of '70's leisure suits. It will be coming back to you, and hopefully you can resell it to a better owner.
I purchased this jacket a couple of weeks ago, and couldn't be happier. It is quite warm...definately good for 50 degree tempertures..maybe even the 40's.The storm cuffs keep the cold out extremely well. It is also quite flexible, therefore comfortable. Cat hair and lint can easily be wisked away. I love it
