I bought this jacket as soon as it came out because I absolutely love the way it looks (I bought black) - sleek and sharp. Not too sporty or too dressy. In spite of all the positives, I am having a hard time talking myself into keeping this jacket. In early October it was raining lightly and while it was only in the 50’s, I was cold with this jacket, though it did keep the rain out. Even though there’s a storm flap behind the zipper, the wind found its way in and I was cold. I would be willing to exchange for the Mountain Laurel soft-shell, which has a hood (I thought the Pathfinder could use one), but it doesn’t come in black! Not even dark brown – just weird colors. The size was true, but if you have to wear another layer underneath for warmth, the fit might be too snug, unless it’s a thin silk or synthetic fiber as a base layer. Tough decision, but I think I’ll have to return it, especially at this price. I would keep it if it was half the retail price, but with Christmas coming . . .
I bought this jacket for a trip to two National Parks in the Northwest during October. It proved to be a great investment by being warm, very comfortable, convenient with all the pockets, and light weight. The medium petite was a perfect fit especially in the arm length. More petite clothing like this would be appreciated.
I took this on a week long trip to Vermont. It's lightweight, soft, easy to pack, and it kept me warm and dry in several downpours. It came out of the wash looking like new, and now hangs on a hook by the door so I can grab it on the run!
Love the softness inside, doghair doesn't stick to the outside. Warm, fit perfect, at 5'0", petites is where it's at. Wish more things at Beans were available in petites.
