Just got this and tried it on VERY disappointed. The new tailored styling makes it tight everywhere - even when ONLY wearing a long underwear top. Unsuitable if you intend to use this as a jacket over any type of clothing. If you want to wear it over a regular shirt order a size larger and maybe then it will fit. The sleeves are pretty narrow, so not much room for a long sleeve top under it.
I'm trying to find a replacement for an old LLBEAN wind chaser fleece that has slick netting on the inside - which is nice if you want to wear the jacket over something.. no luck so far.
I ordered my regular size, but do not prefer the close-to-body fit, so I ordered a size larger and not petite. I was concerned the sleeves would be too long, but they are perfect. This coat is great! I can fit a light fleece underneath with no problem. The jacket looks nice and is so comfortable.
I like the upper front pocket as well. Perfect for taking lip balm and/or phone/MP3 player along on walks. Wore it outside briefly during a sprinkle, and was pleased at the water beading up on the coat. However, I don't plan to wear it during extended rain/snow. The fabric has a nice stretch and makes it comfortable while driving or performing outdoor activities. :)
I have had this jacket for about 3 years. Wear it as often as I can - I even look forward to cooler days and nights just so I can wear it. It's that comfortable. I get a lot of compliments on it. I am 5'1 120lbs - and the XS Petite fits just right - slightly fitted at the waist adds a little style. I can wear it over a light sweater. Sometimes I layer it under a vest.
The material wears well - nice smooth finish, no pilling, no pulls. Its been washed many times in the regular wash cycle with cold water detergent and comes out like new. Also comes clean with a damp cloth. Zipper still works like new too.
I can't think of anything I don't like about this jacket - other than I wish it was available in a 3/4 length.
This is a great jacket, slightly fitted for a flattering fit. It's nice and warm, the sleeves don't let any air in, and it blocks the wind nicely. Love the teal color! Also, a huge unexpected bonus is that it seems to completely repel dog hair. I normally can't keep dog hair off my clothes, and thought the soft-side would at least be easier to just wipe it off compared to a fleece jacket... but I haven't ever even needed to do that. Even after cuddling with my dog and having her laying right on it, there's never a single piece of dog hair. Awesome!!! I'm normally kind of borderline Small / Medium, but the Small fits well and is plenty big.
