Color received was not as deep, much lighter than seen onscreen. Loved this jacket, excellent fabric and construction, but did not love styling with the flared hem. Cinching the bottom only made it bulky looking. Also the sleeves were overly long. Disappointing. Two strikes. Returned.
I have a hard time with LL Bean's cuts for women. Often the shoulders, chest and arms are too baggy. I am 5'1" and 125lbs with an athletic build and medium bust. A few years ago I had the Quilted Riding Jacket, but it was oddly shaped up top. In searching for a mid-weight winter jacket, I ordered the Super 200 Fleece jacket (also in petite small) after reading pretty much ALL the reviews, but it was too loose in the upper portion of the jacket and fit fine around my midsection. I returned it in favor of this Pathfinder Soft-Shell and I am really pleased that the fit is much better. The arms, chest and shoulders are in proportion with the midsection. The very first time I wore this I got a compliment from someone at the gym that it fit me well - a good sign! My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the Colonial Red is brighter than I expected - it's a fire engine red rather than a darker hue. I can live with the color so I'll keep it.
I love this jacket bc it doesn't make me feel like a marshmallow. Great fit, no problems with the zipper here and I love the inside pocket. Only thing is that when it's 35-40, I'm freezing in this jacket. I now use it with a warm sweater and it feels better. I just expected it to be warmer given the description.
Good tailoring, good color (purple) and fit, with a nice inner sleeve cuff. Solid jacket for use by itself or over a fleece jacket for really cold days. Only disappointment is no hood for those really cold winds!
