I bought this jacket as a New Years present for myself and I couldn't love it enough. Only one minor con though: the wrists on the jacket aren't tight enough to keep cold air out. I wish there were buttons or some way of tightening around the wrists.
I bought a petite large and it fits great. I'm 5'3 and was a little nervous about the petite. It's super warm and the pocket and hood lining are super soft. The hood does NOT slip off or feel baggy. It keeps my ears warm too. I also don't need a scarf because it zips up to my nose and I feel cozy that way. I hardly feel wind when it get's windy and chilly.
Overall I loved the jacket minus the cuffs. Other than that it was a great purchase.
Also, I bought the silvery colored jacket and was worried it might look like an astronaut suit. It doesn't. Its a nice soft color that is not too metallic looking.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice this jkt is. It's lightweight but seems to be quite warm (hasn't been cold here yet) - it has a very nice feminine shape, not puffy like so many other down jckts. It has a lot of nice extras like 2 inside pockets and drawstring cords at waist and hood. The hood is lined in a very nice soft fleece, very nice touch. I'm 5'0 tall, 118 lbs, ordered Petite small, fits perfect - sleeves are a bit long but that's mostly the case w/ most coats for me. Enough room for a sweater or a vest inside - very happy w/ this purchase, esp at the sale price, wonderful value!
I can't rave enough about this beautiful jacket. The contoured cut sets it apart from traditional boxy down styles and the luxe outer fabric & lovely inner fleece are the icing on the cake! The hood lays flat and the jacket falls nicely at the hips. I haven't loved a style this much in a long time! Go ahead and give it a try. You won't be sorry!
Read all the reviews and decided to try it out. Looking for a lightweight WARM jacket for travel to a colder climate this winter.
Love the sheen to the fabric. I am 5 4" and 128 and the petite small has plenty of room for another layer if you wanted. My pockets are not fleece lined. The hood is but not the whole jacket. Which is fine. I'ts not too cold right now in the South so can't test it for warmth but I trust the Bean guide.
