Love this coat
PostedFebruary 9, 2011
I wanted a light down jacket to wear out shopping etc. I found this one at Beans and love it. The material inside and out is very soft and pliable. The hood and neck area is lined with that super soft fuzzy fleece -- not sure what it's called. I have long arms and I often buy things too big. I didn't want this to bag on me so I got the Medium and the arm length is great. A heavy sweater might be a bit bulky but I have done it and it's doable. I wore it with normal weight sweater under it and another time with just a shirt and at about 28 degrees out I was plenty warm. Another thing I like about it is that it's a bit longer in the back so if you bend over your back isn't exposed and it makes the jacket warmer too. It has great inside pockets too. Good jacket. True to size, the large was wider around the waist and chest which is why I got the medium. I am a 10/12 with broad shoulders. In shirts I usually get large because of my shoulders and monkey arms. However I weigh 150 at 5'7" so I don't typically require a large. The medium is perfect unless I put a really heavy sweater under it, then its OK but a bit snug.

Colorado Cozy
PostedFebruary 6, 2011
This is the perfect jacket for the awesome Colorado climate! I bought this for my active outdoor lifestyle. I wear it when I snowshoe, cross country ski, hike and when I am just walking through the woods with my yellow lab. I bought a small at first but it was a bit big across the shoulders and a bit boxy for me. I exchanged the small for a petite extra small and it fits me perfectly. I am 5-4 and weight 117 pounds. I usually layer for my outdoor activities and this coat is perfect with some light layers under it. I wore it recently in 5- 10 degree weather with a cuddle dud undershirt, a light wicking layer shirt and a thin fleece. I was cozy and warm. When the temp is warmer it is also perfect with just a shirt under it. Love the hood and the fleece lined pockets. A GREAT jacket to stay Colorado cozy!

Proswarm and slimming
I was very unsure about what size to order, I finally resorted to calling up LLBean. The woman was very helpful and provided me with the actual garment measurements, which is much more helpful to me than just the generic "size chart." Note: the sizing around the bust, waist, and sweep are the SAME for regular and petite sizes! The only difference between the two is that the petite has shorter arms and is shorter in the back. I am about 5'3" and about 130 pounds, a 34D-ish and the petite small fits quite nicely, even with a long-sleeved shirt and lightweight sweater underneath. Slimming, not "poofy" and has an active fit (just like the video says!) I was anticipating that the petite would actually be smaller around, but it really isn't, it's just shorter. The purple crocus is more pink than purple, and quite shiny. I'm not in love with the color, but it's cheerful. Also, maybe I'm too acclimatized to the cold (we keep our house about 60F or less), but this jacket is EXTREMELY warm. Too warm for 50s F, or at least needs no layers underneath (I do tend to heavily layer). Only complaints are that the front pockets are a bit small and could be much bigger, the interior picket is goofy (it's just a mesh pouch with no closure), and the neck is a bit small in circumference when fully zipped--if I zip the jacket all the way up, there's not much room around my chin and the hood creeps up and doesn't easily just lift up and over my head. Hood fits fine and is mysteriously roomy once on, though. I don't think I would have bought this at full price, but at $89.99 I consider it a great deal. Can't wait for more cold!
