This coat far exceeded my expectations. It's always hard to buy a coat without trying it on, but the fit was perfect in the size that I normally order from LL Bean. There is room to layer a fleece or sweatshirt underneath the coat, and it allows for movement (no marshmallow feeling!). Furthermore, it is standing up to the below-zero wind chills this winter, keeping me comfortably warm. I tried on dozens of coats before placing this order, all of them considerably more expensive. However, I made the right decision with LL Bean; I didn't like any of the others as well as I like this coat!
I am 5'3" and 120lbs. I got an XS and it fits perfectly! Love the Silver Birch color. Wonderfully soft fabric and fleece. It has been bitterly cold here in VT- sub zero temps for many days- and this coat has kept me cozy warm! Don't be fooled by the light weight of this coat. It is truly very warm. I wish I could get another color....all sold out in XS! Take a chance on this coat! You won't be disappointed!
I love this jacket, it is both warm and stylish. It fits like a dream, and I especially like the soft lining of the pockets and the hood (which is not only cozy, but minimizes static-y hair!)
