ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, better than expected
I bought this to replace a $200 down parka from an Alaskan comany that we found to be way too bulky for active boys. I live in western AK where it gets really, really cold, -20 or colder for weeks sometimes. I bought 2 of these for my 2 boys. They are great coats. My older son lost his last year and I've decided to buy him a new one this year. It's warm and easy to move around in. For really cold days, we just add more layers underneath. Have had no quality issues with the one that didn't get lost and have had it for 2 years.

This coat gets 5 stars for serving valiantly through winter in Russia. My boys were warm in this jacket, when I was sure they would complain about the cold. There is room for a sweater, the cuffs keep out drafts, the zipper works great, the fleece inside the collar is cozy and we haven't seen a feather poke through yet. The only thing is I wish they had more colors!
I ordered both coats one in each color. My sons are three and two, they both wear a 3T shirts so I bought the size S (4) coats. Tried them on the boys this morning, they are big, long in the sleeve and length but will keep them nice and warm. Can't wait to take them outside.

My first impression upon receiving the coat was worrisome because of the lightweight. My concept of a warm coat equal heavy coat. However, I must say that I was wrong this time. This coat has proven it's warmth on a 17 degree weather and so far no complaints from my 9 year old of being cold. I have to give it a 5-Star because LLbean can be trusted with their products; they haven't failed me yet.
