ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
When I first received the cayenne color jacket, I was really worried that it would not do its job. It felt so light and thin. But the color, style looked so good that I could not resist keeping it.
After my son tried it, he told me that it was too hot. I keep my house pretty cold during certain hours in the winter and he could not keep the jacket on for more than ten minutes inside the house because it made him too hot. When we were outside (around 30F and windy), he said he could not feel any coldness where he was covered by the jacket but other areas felt cold. He loves this jacket because it is light, thin and soft. We will try it out in NH this Christmas and see how it will do.
My son is slim and generally fits in size 7 of all clothing. I got him the size 8 of this jacket and it is perfect for him. It covers just over his hips, the sleeves are perfect length and he can comfortably add a very thick sweater if he wants to.
I washed the jacket as soon as I received it by following the instructions. After hanging dry, the trick to fluff up the jacket is to use a smooth stick and beat the jacket while it is hanging up. It evens out the down inside and makes the jacket very puffy and soft. I did not notice any down escaping so far.

I bought this goose down jacket in bright navy with green trim for our 4 yr. old grandson in size Med. 5/6 and it fits him very well, appears to be comfortable, zips easily, gives good coverage and seems warm enough. The detachable hood is a plus, but wish it included a way to make it fit more snuggly. Maybe with a hat underneath it will stay in place okay. The jacket is attractive on him and has a reflective triangle on the back bottom of jacket for added safety in the dark. Have not had any problems with the jacket and it seems like good quality. I will buy a new one just like it from LLBean when he outgrowns this one. Thank you LLBean! Ordering and shipping went well. If it's extremely cold out, we plan to put a goose down vest (size 7) over the jacket, but we haven't had to do that yet.
I bought this jacket for his eldest son. The lower part of the jacket is very broad. Down and feathers come out very strongly through the seams. It seems that the jacket is full of holes. I do not recommend this product.
My 9 year old is very picky about what he wears and yet loathe to go shopping. It create a difficult task for me sometimes. I had very clear instructions when I set out to buy him a coat for winter. When I found this coat (in the solid blue with green trim) I knew I had a winner. Several colds weeks into the season and we've got only good things to say about it. Good fit. Good look. Nice and warm.
