This jacket is perfect for my 8yr old son. Not bulky at all. Lots of room to move but also keeps him warm at the bus stop. The LLBean name really does stand for quality. Love the look too!
Got for my great nephew who is 7. Got size 8 in boy's -it was big but you can just rollup the sleeves and he should be able to wear next year as well. Very snug, great looking, and appears durable. Very pleased. In fact, so much, I just purchased another one for another of my great nephews.
My 11 year old boy is very, very particular when it comes to jackets - nothing too heavy, complicated, or fancy for him. Even though we live in MI and it gets really cold here, he doesn't go for layering, either. I am glad I read someone else's review before I bought this, though; I got a 14 - 16, and it is just right. And I think it will be warm enough, too. Let it snow!!
