ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
this jacket was perfect for a family member who lives in the south; they didn't need something for very cold weather (-20) but they did get temperatures below zero. Fit well and kept him warm.
Wondering if sizing has changed again with LLBean? We had this in a 10-12 and I ordered the next size up and it's barely bigger than the other coat. Too short and sleeves too small. Now they are sold out of XL so this is just a return. (That I have to pay for!) Have noticed the XL fleeces from this year are also significantly shorter and narrower than last years models. Not helpful!
LL Bean quality is evident in this jacket. My daughter had another coat which lasted for years and I believe this would be the same. However, ordered sky blue color, but jacket is much darker than pictured, in fact my daughter calls it periwinkle. She does not like the color so we will send it back. Other thing is sizing. As other reviewers noted these run small. My daughter measures on the low end of medium but this jacket just fits and leaves no room to grow so might consider ordering up a size. I gave this 4 stars because of the color size issue. As far as quality would give it a 5.
According to the size charts, my son should wear a 14-16... with room to grow. I'm wondering if the jacket I got was sized incorrectly because the sleeves were 2 inches too short and it barely came to his waist. I am very disappointed, and, like a previous reader noted, will now have to pay postage to return this.
