Great jacket for cold weather in TX - the children can wear it over a tshirt and are perfectly comfortable going outside, even in the rare snows we are blessed to receive here.

The Warm-up Hooded Jacket is great for southeastern New Mexico weather. My girls love their new jackets, the colors are perfect. Catalog pics don't do them justice. The inside Ipod pocket is a nice added feature for older dd.
This warm-up jacket is gorgeous (sapphire color) and warm. I'll still need to get my daughter a rain jacket of some kind for when it warms up again. But this will be perfect for our chilly and rainy Northwest winter. I was nervous about buying a M(10-12), when she is still on the edge between an 8 and a 10. But even though it is long, it looks so nice, and she doesn't mind the size for this season. That's great news for me because we need it to last.
Before this, she wore a 3-in-1 jacket from LLBean and it was great too. We also bought it big and she wore it for 3 seasons! It washed well and held up beautifully. But as a first and 2nd grader it was getting bulky to wear on the bus with the lining in. Some times the morning are so cold here, and then if it warms up a little, the kids remove their coats on the way home despite the still chilly weather. I don't think that will happen as much with the new purchase.

I purchased this jacket for my son this year and am very pleased with it. He loves it and it keeps him both warm and dry. I also purchased the 3-in-1 parka but will be sending it back and keeping this one. This one is just much more put together and seems better quality. Thanks LL Bean!
