We bought this in red for my son when he was 18 months old in 2T. It was big on him, but not so much that he could not wear it. He loved it from day 1 because it is so soft. Once the snow started falling, we introduced his brown winter coat...but he still asked to wear his red jacket every day. He wore it all spring and now that he is 2 it fits him well. It is hanging on the hook in his room and he tried to put it on tonight....too bad it is 80 degrees outside! I expect him to still wear it in the fall and hopefully next spring too until he is 3. You can't beat the price if the child gets 1 1/2 years out of it! For reference, my 2 year old is 30 lbs, 36" tall. I am now pregnant with twin boys and due in October, and plan on buying them the 12-18 month size next year.
I bought this in red for my 18m grandson. It is well-liked by him AND his quality-conscious parents. The fit (2T) is just right, with room to grow for at least another year. The weight is warm without being too heavy. The sleeves roll up easily and stay put without being tight and the hood is a good shape: not too snug and stays on easily. He loves the pockets, too, which are located in just the right places. His mom especially likes that the zipper has a protective tab at the neck for comfort. I highly recommend this fleece!
I purchased this jacket in Fall 2012. I chose the 12 - 18 month size because my daughter had just turned 1, and she's average size for her age. The jacket was large, but fit well especially with layers. Now my daughter is almost 2 1/2 years old and the jacket still fits! It's getting a little snug and a bit short, but she can definitely still wear it. She loves this jacket and has worn it as her primary outerwear for the past year and half, and it's held up well. The quality is very good, and if it weren't for the fact that I want to (finally) buy a bigger size, she could continue wearing it and look great. I like that the hood on this jacket has elastic around the edge, which keeps it on her head. This was a great purchase and I will continue to buy it in bigger sizes as she grows.
I bought this jacket in size 6-12mo for my daughter and she started wearing it at 5mo, she was a very plump baby (20lbs/27"). She is now 16mo and 26lbs/32" and it still fits! After 4 seasons of wear, and several washes it still looks brand new. At first I thought $45 was too much to spend on a baby jacket, but LL Bean has such high quality clothing I know it will last for my next children to wear. I love how it is warm and not bulky, and very easy to slip on and off. (which is important when dealing with toddlers). Couldn't be happier with it.
