My son, who insists that anything other than nylon gym pants is too itchy and gives him a rash, loved these pants as soon as he pulled them on. The fabric really is unusually soft and comfortable. They fit him very well, too - he is fairly tall and athletic with solid "tree trunk" legs and a round bottom. Many pants are snug in the rear on him but not these. These will be my go-to dress pants from now on.
The good: soft, comfortable material. nice color. The bad: WAY to wide in the cut of the leg - like clown pants on my 10 year old. Will be sending them back.
These L.L. Bean Chinos from the boy's department were as acceptable to the 10 and 12 year old wearers as they were to me, their grandmother. I could have wished for stronger cloth but the styling is just what we asked for.
I have been getting these for my son to wear to school for the last two years. He says they are comfortable and prefers them to jeans. I have been through sizes 8-14 and they wash and wear very well. Wrinkling is minimal, I hang them up right out of the dryer. When I compare the older pairs with the new ones, there has been only slight fading (navy). I have had to sew a couple of buttons back on this year, but he did stay in size 12 almost the whole year, so they got a lot of wear. They have been true to size and fit well.
