I received these for Christmas and got 1 size down from what I normally wear like the reviews said so I got a size 7. When I got them they were SO tight! Luckily I live about 30 minutes from an LL Bean store so I went in to exchange them. I tried on a size 8 and although a little big they were more comfortable than the size 7's that I had. Since all the boxes were stacked on clearance in the shoe dept I somehow seriously mixed up up the 8 that I had tried on and ended up going home with a different size 8 than those I had already tried. When I went to put them on that night they were HUGE!!! I checked to make sure they were a size 8 and they were but a completely different fit than the size 8 I tried on in the store. It was like my foot was in a hallway...I could barely feet the fur in the shoe as it was so wide. I went back again yesterday to exchange again. I tried on many different size 8's, and even some size 7's. I ended up finding a size 7 that was a little roomier in the toe than the ones that I received for Christmas and the others that I had tried on. Every single shoe had a little bit of a different fit.
Moral of my long story is if you are unhappy with the size or fit of the shoe you ordered online go into a store if you live within reasonable driving distance. They are all very different which I think is why some reviews say their boot was true to size and was a perfect fit and others said they needed to go a size down.
This is a well-made boot. The inside is cozy and warm lamb's wool. The arch is a little lacking if you have a high arch, but there was enough room to put in an inner sole that has a high arch, and voila, problem solved!! What a bargain!
These boots are the best. Read other reviews that said they ran large for the sizes, but I found that these were a perfect size as my shoe size. Feel very warm and love that there is an arch support inside. Never had a pair of boots that keep my feet warm when out in the snow, these are perfect.
Fit perfectly, comfortable, warm and good looking.

Upon finding the box at my backdoor yesterday, I immediately opened it and tried my boots on. I have short, wide feet and a bunion on my right foot. As a nurse my feet have had much abuse. The boots felt as if they were custom made for me. I had no place to go, however, I wore them in the house all day and evening. I took them off when going to bed. We have a snow storm due starting tomorrow and lasting more then a day. I'm ready to "play" in the snow!!
