I was surprised when this arrived at how dainty and elegant this sweater is. I ordered this in the cream color, and it appears lacy and delicate, so I think it will be fun to dress it up or down. I notice that it is dry clean only, which probably would have made me hesitate to purchase had I noticed. But, I like it well enough to give it a try!
I was reluctant to buy because of the wool content, I was afraid it would be an itchy sweater. It is great! the yarn mix is very soft even with a short sleeve shirt under it. Yes it does pill, but so do all of my hand knit sweaters! The buttons stay closed, and the fit is true to size and very flattering! Even after many washes the color stays true, and it keeps its shape. I wish there were more colors available! :-)
I bought 3 popcorn sweaters last year and love them. This year I ordered the navy and lawn green. The lawn green was a big disappointment as it pilled and shed terribly. My white shirt was covered with green and the inside of my coat was also covered. I spent most of the day at work taking pills off the sweater. I notifed LLBean of the problem and returned the sweater. I have since noticed other reviews stating the same problem with the lime green. I was contacted by a product specialist and told her of the problem and I had noticed other customer reviews with the same problem. I am amazed that LLBean continues to sell this defective lime green sweater!
I found this sweater a few months ago and loved the look and the color (Lawn Green) but held off buying it because of the fabric and some reviews about pilling/shedding. Finally decided it was just too cute to pass up plus it was now on sale. Unfortunately, the main reason I bought it was for the color (GO GREEN) but the color is not at all the same as pictured. More like a dark Kelly Green. Also, the first time I wore it, it started pilling on the arms and along the sides. I'm disappointed but will keep it.
