ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I love these boots! They are super -stylish, warm and most of all comfortable. We just got our first wet snow of the season so I got to wear them today and haven't taken them off. LLBean boot at the bottom, leather uppers and cozy fleece inside. And best of all to me, my feet slip right in, so they're easy on and off!
I live in the Pittsburgh area and we get snow all winter - I needed a boot that would keep my feet AND the cuffs of my pants dry and warm. As of now, we haven't had snow, but these boots are top quality and I am actually looking forward to challenging the snow this year!
I had a pair of 7-inch zip-up Bean boots with a wool lining - these are 14 inches and have a shearling lining that does not budge when you take your foot out. The shearling lines the entire boot, toes and all (unlike some of the other Bean boots). The leather upper is supple and thick, and the boot is super easy to get on and off (no lacing required). I expect them to be totally waterproof and to last a very, very long time. I am also glad they are made right here in the U.S.!
I wear an 8.5 and, at the recommendation of the customer service rep, ordered down a size, and the fit is just right for wearing normal "crew weight" socks. In the past, ordering up a size has resulted in clunking around in slightly too-big boots.
I've wanted these boots for a couple of years, and am very glad I finally took the plunge. An employee at our local store told me these are one of the top-selling boots, and I can completely see why.
I never buy my shoes a size small, but in listening to the other reviews, I am glad I did. With a thick sock, my feet still slip a bit in the heel, but a snug fit (in a good way) in the toe box. I'll probably get a pad to put in the heel to make sure the fit is perfect. These are very warm and durable, but definitely run large.
