ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, great pockets
I'd never worn a down jacket before, but I had high expectations. They were easily met the first time I wore it. This jacket is the warmest, yet lightest jacket I own, and living in Maine I've learned how important warm is. I love that you can compress it down to almost nothing, yet pull it out and it still looks great. This will be great for snow shoeing!!
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, packable
Firstly, be weary of Bean's "Trim" claims. I was oscillating between a size small and medium, and chose the medium because I plan to layer in super-cold weather. I found the medium VERY roomy. I can only imagine how their "Relaxed" fit jackets fit.
That being said, this is an amazing jacket. Incredibly lightweight, you can stuff it in its own stow pocket and use it as a pillow or toss it into the bottom of your bag. Once you try this jacket, you'll never want to own one of those big, bulky Michelin Man down coats again.
A good value, especially compared to similar 850 down jackets. (And believe me, I've compared.)
If you're not going to layer, however, go with the smaller size.
