ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, packable
Excellent product. Fits perfect. True to size, packs down pretty small and fits within its own pocket. Excellent for taking on trips where space is at a premium.

I saw this jacket on display and could not believe how comfortable and light it was. The jacket keeps me warm without the bulk of typical down jackets. Excellent quality and compares to the other popular lightweight brands. I took the jacket backpacking to the Grand Canyon in May, it packs down to about the size of a 32oz water bottle and doubled as a pillow at night. My 650 LL Bean down jacket now hangs in the closet. My 1st one was crimson, I just ordered a black one. My only regret is it does not have adjustable wrist closures.
This jacket seemed very good on the first several wears: light, warm, compact. I did not abuse it (although outdoor gear should be somewhat abuseable), but after maybe five or six wearings, a hole developed out of which poured a veritable fountain of the soft white stuff. Sounds like no one else has this complaint, so maybe it's not a systemic issue.
It's frequently a little chilly in Northern California, but it is almost always cold at night. It is nice to know that this coat is tucked away inside a zippered pocket in my bag whenever I need it. When I don't, I hardly even notice it's there. Unless you live in Minnesota, I can't imagine needing a warmer coat than this--and I'm originally from Maine.
