I have bought 2 of this jacket and just came back to buy one more black and found out it is nearly all sold out. I don't mean to sound pompous but I have lots and lots of jackets ranging from very high end brands but this one just beats all of them. It keeps you very very warm and yet you feel like you are just wearing a t-shirt. Hope LL Bean has this jacket next winter too !!! I will definitely buy more .
Great down fill - breathes and keeps you comfortable at a wide range of temperatures. I have worn this jacket in weather ranging from -5 to -35 degrees Celsius and it performs well everywhere in between.
I was originally looking at the older style Bean down jacket when I came across this one. They don't even compare.
This jacket is eerily light weight. It almost seems like some sort of magic trick that something this light weight can be so warm. I also really appreciate that it is not too bulky as it makes a good insulating layer under a waterproof shell when it gets real cold.
My only suggestion would be to possibly add pit zips, as this thing can get too warm fast if you are exerting yourself. So much so that I can't even use it as much for what I originally planned using it for (backpacking). It packs so small and is so lightweight however I bring it with me every trip in the cold months "just in case". I do find myself wearing it quite a bit around town and have gotten complements on the style.
