I purchased this jacket to replace another down jacket that didn't fit me right because I am 6'2" tall and thin. I was glad to find a jacket in a size "Medium-Tall" Well, no one will accuse llbean of making a jacket or sleeves too long. The sleeves are annoyingly short, and the jacket itself could be longer. What it lacks in length, it makes up for in width. This jacket is supposed to be a Medium, but it fits like a Large or XL. I'm swimming in it. This makes it difficult to layer over the jacket. If you are over 6'2" tall, or an avid outdoorsman that likes layering, then this jacket is probably not for you. If you just want a decently warm jacket to wear around then it will probably do.
I wore it for the first time today in very cold and windy NYC weather. It kept me very warm. It is very well made. The inside pockets are very nice and it really does fit into a small pouch. I highly recommend this jacket. I am 6':1". 35 inch sleeve. I got the large tall and it fits perfectly.
In preparation of a trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro I was looking for a lightweight, sturdy down jacket. This jacket fit all of these issues to a "T"!
I live in North Dakota where the cold winter winds blow ALL THE TIME. This jacket is amazing. All my friends cannot believe that this lightweight jacket can possibly keep me warm ....that is until they try it on.
Tonight (middle December) the wind chill is 48 degrees BELOW ZERO. I just got back from walking the dog and my body never got in the least bit even chilly. THIS JACKET IS A WINNER !!
