This coat is the perfect weight - invisible weight and fairly stylish. I tried the black one and found that the cutting is nicely fitted. The side panel could use the similar style stitching like the lower torso for a more slimming effect. The arms are a bit gangly and puffy and the shoulder seam was about 1/4 inch too far in the jacket for it to look right. It's a nice shiney modern look but the exterior material feels like it could rip at anytime. Also while I had the coat on, feathers were escaping. Even though it was 850 fill, this didn't feel as warm as the 650 fill jacket I also tried on. Perhaps it was not wind tight? Also the sleeves seemed short and I usually wear the petite size and I tried on a regular today. The cuff of the sleeves are very loose and unadjustable to keep the wind out. A interior cuff would be nice. A detachable fleeced lined hood would be nice too.
I was so excited when the size small became available again in the color coastal blue. I think it fits almost the same as the mountain laurel down coat I gave from last year. True to size. Very flattering with nice lines. It is very light but very warm. I think the sleeves are long enough but I agree with other reviewers that it should have elastic or velcro to help with the draft. I am so happy!

After reading other reviews about this jacket showing dark feathers through the blue color ( which isn't bad at all) and short sleeves ( they could be a bit tighter, but are a great length), I ordered this coat since my husband loves his Ultralight 850 Down jacket. I'm so glad I did since it's very warm and cozy, zipping up snugly around my neck...so warm, I don't even need my scarf. The blue is such a beautiful color as well! The lightness is also great for packing when traveling. My only room for improvement would be to include a detachable hood. LL Bean comes through again!
Great jacket! I love the color and the comfortable weight and fit. I agree with others that the sleeves are the one thing that are less than perfect: they are a bit short, but the worst problem is that the lack of closure around the wrist lets in cold air. I plan to modify the sleeves of my jacket myself. Otherwise, it is a fabulous jacket.
