I ordered this down jacket in the blue color. It really is pretty, but I can't stand the dark feathers that show through the fabric. It looks stained and dirty. I expected higher quality from LL Bean. I think if you ordered this in black it would be fine, but any of the lighter colors will look bad. I also would have liked adjustable wrist cuffs. The wrist elastic is loose allowing cold air to sneak in.
My 20-yr-old daughter praised me for this purchase. According to her report, the jacket is surprisingly warm, given its feather weight, and fits much better than most down parkas, which make people look like Pillsbury Dough persons. Great colors, too.
Very lightweight and soft, not bulky feeling, and doesn't make a lot of noise when you move in it (a consideration for me, since I bought it for winter riding). They run large. I am a 35-36 bust, so ordered the M. It was swimming on me, so exchanged it for a S which is more form fitting and still has enough room for fleece or vest underneath, but sleeves are a bit short. As down jackets go, not too bad style wise, since it is somewhat fitted, but still has a bit of that puffy unflattering sihouette, even on a thin person like me.
Just purchased a week ago and worn briefly. Sizing is very true and weight is awesome. Actual warmth test to come @ high school State Football playoff this weekend. Very satisfied!
